Champagne Cupcakes with Champagne Butter Cream. I made these for my sister’s surprise 50th birthday party. The Butter Cream was SO GOOD! I could have eaten it ALL, right out of the bowl with a spoon. You can find the recipe here- http://www.thecurvycarrot.com/2010/12/31/champagne-cupcakes-with-champagne-buttercream/. Happy Birthday Vicki!
Owl Cupcakes made for a Owl themed birthday party.
Happy Birthday Cassidy and Trinity!
My nephew Andy created a scavenger hunt (to the words of the song, Love Story by Taylor Swift) for his girlfriend Hannah. At the end of it, he got down on one knee and proposed. She said YES!! They are getting married December 31st. What a wonderful way to start the New Year! These cupcakes were made for Hannah’s bridal shower.

Best Wishes Andy and Hannah! Continue reading ‘A Love Story’
I love the show Cupcake Wars on the Food Network. I would never want to be on the show, way too much pressure, not enough time and gross ingredients (Tuna? Really?) I know that the ingredients can’t always be chocolate or vanilla, that would be a very boring show. Anyway….I was asked to make 100 cupcakes for the Emmaus Farmers Market Fund Rasing Dinner. I was given a list of ingredients that were available to me and I could come up with the kind of cupcakes I wanted to make (that was the Cupcake Wars part…sort of). It was so much fun!
So after 20 eggs, 16 cups of flour, 10 cups of sugar, 8 pounds of butter, Maple Syrup, Apples, Carrots, Honey, Sweet Potatoes and Goat Cheese I made cupcakes. Yummy Cupcakes!
Sweet Potato Cupcakes with Marshmallow Butter Cream and Candied Pecans.
Carrot Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Apple Cupcakes with Butter Cream drizzled with Caramel.
Honey Cupcakes with Honey Butter Cream.
Maple Cupcakes with Maple Butter Cream. Love the Fondant Maple Leaves.
I also made Black Bottom Cupcakes, a chocolate cupcake with goat cheese filling topped with chocolate chips. They were a hit!
There was lots of good food. Pumpkin Ravioli, Butternut Squash Soup, Buffalo Sliders, Kielbasa.
My wonderful husband, Steve, filled in for one of the Chefs. He’s the Best!
There was a band.
I met John Grogan (author of Marley & Me). I turned into a tongue-tied idiot. (John, I really am a big fan!).
It was such a fun day!
And all of the Cupcakes were gone.
To celebrate my son’s 29th birthday, he asked if we could do a mexican night, tacos, nachos, mexican rice, corn bread, Hot Tamales (the candy not the food), the whole works. All the kids came over and we had a blast. He also wanted vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I made the mini tacos out of fondant. I just love working with fondant, it’s like edible play dough. Happy Birthday Jesse!
